Atefah Sahaaleh

There was a report today on BBC News about a 16 year old girl, Atefah Sahaaleh, who was hanged in Iran. The story is pretty shocking... "The state-run newspaper accused her of adultery and described her as 22 years old. But she was not married - and she was just 16... Alongside murder and drug smuggling, sex outside marriage is also a capital crime." If you're interested in the article you can read it here:

From the article I learned that: The age of sexual consent for girls under Sharia law is nine!!!

That just doesn't seem right to me.
