4th of La Jolla
I had a great 4th of July! which is a good thing seeing as it's my 2nd/3rd favorite day of the year (depending on the year). Dave & I drove down to La Jolla (just north of San Diego) Monday night. His Uncle lives here & it's a beautiful ($$) beach town. After an afternoon of grilling & hanging out. We went down to the water, which mostly cosists of rocks & small cliffs. Anyways, there were a TON of people around on the grass, on the paths, etc... so we climbed over the railing & down to some rocks.... a bit scary but cool! We were a little unsure exactly where they were shooting off the fireworks from, but when the show started at 9 there was NO confusion. They were RIGHT above us! It was SO beautiful and Romantic! I LOVE fireworks!!
Another cool thing was that afterwards as we looked north across the cove, we could see a different town's fireworks in the distance... Which also looked like a great show. Afterwards we had the added bonus of not having to drive home. We just walked 10 min back to their place. Ah, just like PF :-P
Dave & I decided to stay down here in La Jolla for another night so that we wouldn't have to make the trip back to LA after the fireworks which would take HOURS and it wasn't worth the stress. So, I took an additional day off of work (much needed). We have yet decided whether we'll surf, go to Sea World, or just head home.... Regardless, I've had a good last few days.
