Paid Lunch?
I'm not sure how many people are reading this yet, but I'm really curious...
Do you get a paid lunch? if so... how long?
Do you have the option to take a longer lunch off the clock?
When I worked at Corrugated Supplies, we were given 1/2 hr paid lunch as long as we stayed in the building, but if I left I had to punch out. I was totally cool with that! I was there for 8 hrs & worked for 7 1/2. In the end I was out of the house for about 8 1/2 hrs a day...
The deal w/where I work NOW is: You're supposed to take a 1 hr unpaid lunch, which means I end up being here for 9 hrs a day. First off, I don't like taking long breaks. I would rather keep working, eat at my desk, knock everything out & go home in 8 hrs. I don't have anything to do for an hour but waste time & I hate doing that.
It's getting more frustrating as time goes on, Being gone 10 1/2 hrs (including commute) & getting paid for 8 just pisses me off... how about you?

we are unpaid lunch, which we usually keep to a half hour. but if we go out to a resurant and are gone an hour, we just stay a little later.
i was at a place that had hour unpaid lunch, so i talked to my supervisor and he said i could skip lunch and go home early if i wanted, which i ended up doing. then, after getting cranky and dizzy not eating all day, i took a half hour lunch or ate at my desk and then went home a little early.
an hour unpaid lunch sucks for sure. maybe you could figure a way to use the time if they dont let you move it around....
also, this was rachel. ^_^
Yeah, my work says that they're OK with the 30 min lunch, leave 30 min early thing, BUT the looks didn't seem to match the words... eh, maybe I'll start doing it again.
I have a 1 hour unpaid lunch. Even if I clock out for less than an hour for lunch, I still get docked an hour. I work 7 hours, which means I'm out of the house for 10 1/2 hours (7 hours of work, 1 hour of lunch, 2 1/2 hours of commuting, ugh!) but only get paid for 7 hours. But I'm looking for a new job, so hopefully will have a shorter commute, or at least a job that feels worth it.
