Busy Weekend
Saturday & Sunday were mainly devoted to making over our bedroom-closet-storage situation. Saturday started off with the trip to Ikea. Dave said it right, "Going to Ikea is an Experience." I've been there before, but everytime I can't believe how big it is. It looks like a mix between a warehouse & Discovery Zone*.
Despite its gargantuaness (new word), we got most of what we needed & a few things we didn't know we 'needed' until we got in there :-P I got an awesome wardrobe for my clothes (pictured), an ironing board, coffee mugs, some other little things. We also got the table, chair, light and carpet for the sound booth. We had a pretty successful trip except for the headache that I left with... which SUCKED!
I have a lot of my mom's traits, but shopping is not one that I picked up. She has this great ability to run errands all day if necessary. NOT me! If I'm out of the house for a really extended amount of time I end up getting tired & cranky... especially if I'm shopping. I've got about 45 min to an hour in me, then I'm done!
In the long run it's probably a good thing because 1. I really like buying new things and 2. I'm bad at waiting to find the "better deal." I want to walk at a city pace, through the store, quickly grab what I want, glance to see if there's anything else I want/need & check out. I don't want to be bothered by sales people, but I also don't want to have to go looking for one. I don't want to wait for other people to move so that I can see what I'm looking for. I don't want to wait in line... It's not that I think I'm better than anyone or that I should get to go in front, I'm just ridiculously impatient & don't want to wait. What can I say, that's me :)
Well, from the time that I recovered from Ikea until Sunday night I spent the majority of my time assembling our purchases and re-arranging the bedroom & finding places for all of our stuff. Sprinkled in there was some WoW playing & movies. I finally saw Cinderella Man. I enjoyed the story a lot and it had great acting, but boxing got a little too stressful to watch for me. So, during long boxing matches I'd leave the room & Dave called me back at the end. The parts that I actually watched were good & I thought that Russell Crowe did a great job, as usual. However, I think I would've rather seen someone else play his wife other than Renée Zellweger. She did a good job, but I think it could have been more moving.
I don't really have much planned for the rest of the week besides cleaning up the rest of the house, laundry & grocery shopping. Hopefully the acoustic foam wil be in by Friday so that we can hang it this weekend. So Exciting! :)
Yes, yet again a laid back mindless entry... don't worry, the thought provoking side of me hasn't died... it's just tired :)
